A <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pwc.com.cy\/en\/industries\/assets\/real-estate-h1-2020.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">report from PwC<\/a>, along with comments from industry leaders, suggest new directions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Real estate is still the fastest-growing sector in Cyprus, and, despite the pandemic, it still increased its contribution to Gross Value Added (GVA) by 4&nbsp; per cent to 17 per cent during the 12 months to 30 June 2020, according to the recently released PwC report \u201cCyprus Real Estate Market H1 2020.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report documents a shift from reliance on foreign buyers to greater engagement of the domestic market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe developments have prompted an urgency to pursue a much-needed sector reform and for the market participants to set new priorities and strategies,\u201d writes PwC Cyprus CEO Evgenios Evgeniou. \u201cGoing back to the old-normal is not a viable option.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-button aligncenter is-style-squared\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-background has-vivid-red-background-color\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pwc.com.cy\/en\/industries\/assets\/real-estate-h1-2020.pdf\">See the report<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><em>Source:  Cyprus-Mail<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Real estate is still a critical sector for Cyprus, but recent changes suggest that the sector needs a rethink.
