Larnaca is looking forward to a bumper 2020 as the\ntown expects to see its fair share of new developments as several luxury\nhigh-rise projects, hotels and a shopping mall are being built by local and\nforeign investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larnaca is expecting a record number of tourist\narrivals and hotel bookings this summer with more new hotels springing up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Larnaca Tourism Board said that \u201c2020 will be one\nof the most productive years of the last decades for Larnaca, once major\nprojects that are of immediate benefit to the town\u2019s tourism sector are\ncompleted and operational\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It said Eight new projects are expected to open in\nLarnaca, and surrounding villages such as Athienou, Lefkara and Zygi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Larnaca Tourism Board referred to a number of\nprojects by the municipality and private investors which are to change the face\nof the town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cLarnaca Club\u201d, a renovated 18th-century building\nto be used for cultural events is expected to be delivered this year. The\n\u2018clubhouse\u2019 will have seven fireplaces and an indoor garden area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A fully refurbished indoor multi-purpose stadium with\noutdoor sports facilities such as tennis courts will include the former\nCommunity Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second phase of the seafront pedestrian path,\nextending from Mer Bleu to the Lebay Hotel, is also expected to be completed\nand delivered to the public within the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lefkara Conference Center, to be completed in\n2020, will provide state-of-the-art conference facilities for up to 400\ndelegates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The village of Athienou is to see the completion of\nthe historic site \u201cThe Hani of Mestana\u201d which will be used for cultural and\nother activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Zygi, work will be completed on the Linear Park,\nlocated in the eastern part of the coastal area, with infrastructure to cater\nto bathers and visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larnaca will see an additional 800 beds boost its\ntourist capacity with new hotels opening their doors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hotel Indigo Larnaca of the InterContinental\nHotels Group is about to open in the central area of Ayios Lazaros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Radisson Beach Resort Larnaca, built on the site\nof the former Princess Hotel, will be the Group\u2019s first beachfront resort\nworldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Quality Lodge by the renowned Best Western Group\nof Hotels will be operational within the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oroklini will also play host to the luxury Solaar\nBoutique Hotel & Spa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ermou Square in Larnaca will welcome the Samirana\nBoutique Hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next to the old cinema in Pallas Square, which will\nalso include a roof garden, the Pallas Hotel is being built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cyprus has reached an agreement with Israeli investors\nfor the long-awaited \u20ac1.2 bln redevelopment of Larnaca port and marina, the\nisland\u2019s largest infrastructure project of its kind<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The contract was awarded to KITION OCEAN Holding, a\nCypriot-Israeli consortium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project covers the restructuring of Larnaca marina\nfor 650 berths, the port and surrounding land development over an area of\n220,000 sqm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plans include the development of the marina with the latest technological infrastructure, turning Larnaca port it into one capable of serving large vessels, with the expansion of piers and docks and the construction of a modern passenger terminal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
